Understanding prepaid balance
Let customers load a balance with your shop and use it to pay for online orders.
Overview
Prepaid balance is credit a customer loads with your shop before making a purchase. They can then use that balance to pay at online checkout.
The balance belongs to your shop—it is not a shared balance customers can spend across unrelated Worthify businesses.
Offer prepaid balance
Your payment account must be connected and verified before you can offer prepaid balance.
Go to Online shop → Settings → Payments and enable Prepaid balance as an available checkout method.
How customers use it
The customer loads a balance with your shop.
They add items to their cart.
At checkout, they choose Prepaid balance.
Payment is completed using their shop balance.
Review the order’s payment status before handing it over at pickup. An order successfully paid with prepaid balance does not need to be charged again.
Prepaid balance and Pass checkout
These options collect payment differently:
Customers do not need to complete Pass checkout for an order they have already paid for using prepaid balance.
Manage your checkout preferences
Review your payment settings before offering prepaid balance.
Your shop controls the available checkout methods and whether applicable payment fees are absorbed by the business or passed to customers.
